Schweiger, Ferdinand & Annie (Gold - 27 NOV 1938)
Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Schweiger were pleasantly surprised by their children Sunday, November 27, when they came to help them celebrate their Golden Wedding at their home on the west side of this village.
Ferdinand Schweiger and Annie Wendl were married November 27, 1888, at Jefferson, Wis. During 1890 they came to Clark County, settling on a piece of wild land near Globe. There they lived until 1903 when they sold out and bought a farm two miles west of Loyal which their son John is now operating. They have five living children. Bertha, Mrs. Frank Rueth of the Town of Loyal; Isabella, Mrs. Chas. Wehling of the Town of Beaver; Hildagard, Mrs. Chas. Ley of the Town of Fremont; John on the home place and Marcella, Mrs. George Shellinger of the Town of Eaton. They also have 16 grand children and 10 great grandchildren.
Seven years ago Mr. and Mrs. Schweiger retired and moved to this Village.
During their long life together they may sunshine and cloudy weather, joys and sorrow. Now that they are nearing the end of their journey, they are happy to know that they have many friends who wish them well in their declining years.
