Leroy, H.C. (26 AUG 1845 - 19 MAR 1939)

H. C. Leroy was born Aug. 26, 1845, in Smithville, New York. He was united in marriage to Catherine Priest Leigh July 31, 1877. Mrs. Leroy passed away July 17, 1912.

During 1882, Mr. Leroy came to Thorp and moved to Loyal in 1914.About a years ago he became ill. He did not recover, old age causing his death March 19. The last year of his life was spent at Owen, Wis. He attained the age of 93 years, 6 months and 23 days. Among those who survive is a stepson, C. H. Leigh.

Funeral services were held here at 2 P. M. last Wednesday, Rev. J. C. Langholz officiating. Interment was made at Thorp. Among those from away attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Garvin of Sparta.
