Beyer, Mr. / Mrs. Martin (55th Anniv. - 6 Feb. 1949)
On February 6th, 1894, in St. Joseph’s Church in Stevens Point, Martin Beyer, Stevens Point, was united in marriage to Julia Winkler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Winkler, Town of Brighton. On Saturday, Feb. 5th, Mr. and Mrs. Beyer quietly observed their 55th wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Beyer came as a girl of 5 with her parents from Germany to her present home in 1880. Mr. Beyer was but a small boy when his parents moved from Kentucky to the Stevens Point area.
Mr. and Mrs. Beyer came to the latters parental home on July 26, 1896 from Stevens Point where they lived 2 ½ years following their marriage. With the exception of 4 years when they resided in Colby, they have lived on this same farm in the Town of Brighton.
Mr. Beyer was section foreman on the Soo Line for 33 years until he retired in September 1937.
The Beyers have 3 children, Mrs. George (Barbara) Speich, Greenwood; Mrs. Julia Justman, Stratford; and John at home on the farm; 5 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
The Register joins with the community in extending to them the heartiest congratulations in their rich life together.
