Vick, Mr. / Mrs. Henry (50th Anniv. - 8 Aug. 1949)
Open House will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vick Sunday afternoon from 1 to 6 o’clock in honor of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Vick, which will be August 8th.
Mrs. Vick, nee Mary Ann Spencer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Spencer, was born February 10, 1884 in one of McMillan’s logging camps in the Town of Brighton. She received her schooling in the Marathon County rural school.
Mr. Vick, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Vick, was born May 24, 1875, in Sheboygan County and came to Marathon County when 4 years old. He received his schooling in the Town of Hull.
Mr. and Mrs. Vick were married August 8, 1899 at Marshfield before Judge Hearth. Mrs. Vick did housework before her marriage and Mr. Vick worked in logging camps. After their marriage he was foreman for B. F. McMillan for 18 years. They purchased a farm in the Town of Eau Pleine and moved there April 1, 1910 and lived there for 33 years. They moved to Unity March 20, 1943.
There are nine children; Mrs. George (Myrtle) Weldele, Scobey, Montana; Mrs. Otto (Hazel) Guenther, Stratford; Mrs. Ronald (Esther) Fuller, Wisconsin Rapids; Carl, Minneapolis; Mrs. Margaret Ellison, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Albert (Eleanor) Recner, Stratford; Henry, Stratford; John, St. Paul; and James, Wausau. There are 36 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Approximately 53 guests attended the Open House which was held for Mr. and Mrs. Vick last Sunday afternoon.
Those attending from out of town were all the children except Carl of Minneapolis, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jackman, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Anna Romag and daughter Etta, and Miss Jo Mellz, Park Falls; Rev. Dietrich Kuehl, McMillan; and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Weldele, Buffalo, Wisconsin.
