Anderson, John (27 Dec. 1871 - 5 Oct. 1949)

John Anderson passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, at 2:10 Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 5th.

The body will lie in state at the Swarthout Funeral Home, Spencer, until Sunday noon when it will be taken to the Trinity Lutheran Church at Unity where funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock. Rev. J. A. Olson will officiate.

John Anderson passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, at 2:10 Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 5th.

Mr. Anderson, 77, lived north of Spencer in the Town of Brighton.

The body lay in state at the Swarthout Funeral Home, Spencer, until Saturday noon when it was taken to the Trinity Lutheran Church at Unity where funeral services were held at 2 o’clock with the Rev. J. A. Olson officiating. Burial took place at in the Swedish Lutheran cemetery at Unity.

Mr. Anderson was born in ?moesberg, Sweden, December 27, 1871, and was married at Marshfield November 21, 1905 to Amelia Carlson. He was a farmer and owned several saw mills years ago. He resided in this area the past 69 years.

Besides his widow he is survived by four sons, Maurice, Spencer; Rudolph, Marshfield; Torgany, Huntington Park, California; and Walter, at home. His sister, Mrs. Fred Helsten resides at Rockford, Ill., and there are ten grandchildren.

Pallbearers were nephews of Mr. Anderson, John and Alfred Johnson, and Alfred Carlson, Unity; and Victor Anderson, Spencer; and Kenneth and Delmar Helsten, Rockford, Ill.

Flower bearers were the Mesdames John and Alfred Anderson, Oscar Carlson, Victor Anderson and Max Woodkey and Miss Jean Helsten.

Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Anderson and son, Chicago; Mrs. Russel Elander and daughter, Mrs. George Nelson, Mrs. Stanley Taft, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Helsten, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Helsten, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Helsten, Delmar and Kenneth Helsten, all of Rockford, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Anderson and family, Waupaca; Mr. and Mrs. Max Woodkey, Marshfield; Paul and Dale Carlson, Whitewater; Mr. and Mrs. N. O. Helterhoff and family, George Carlson, and Mrs. Alma Carlson, West Allis; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smith and daughter, Lake Mills; Mrs. Elmer Brieske and son, Elkhart Lake; Mrs. Beda Lindgren, Los Angeles, Calif.; and Torgony Anderson, Huntington Park, California.
