Dorchester - 29 Sept. 1882
Editors Times: At the caucus held at the Central Hotel on Wednesday evening, Messrs. J. J. Lansworth and Hosea Hugaboom were chosen to attend the county convention.
Our new churches, Evangelical and Baptist, are nearing completion.
S. H. Hugaboom and wife have returned from Oshkosh. While away they bought a large lot of furniture to adorn the newly finished rooms in the Central.
Mrs. Geo. Bramble returned home yesterday, from a trip to Weyauwega, Wis. We hear that Mrs. Bramble is to open a millinery shop. This is a want long felt in our community. We hope rumor is well founded.
Miss Lela Evans left town on Monday last, for Green Bay, where she contemplates a two month’s visit. She was accompanied on her trip by her brother John Evans, of Green Bay.
Mr. and Mrs. Winchester entertained a number of friends on Friday evening last. A bountiful supper was served, dancing and games indulged in, and every body went home happy.
Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Pettit left for a week’s sojourn at Neillsville, Wis.
Mr. Archie Menzie rejoices in the advent of a bouncing baby boy, also Mr. A. F. Jensen.
Rev. Mr. Patch, of Stevens Point held divine service in Dorchester on Saturday morning and evening.
Theo. Buenger, Pastor of the Lutheran Church, is absent on a visit home. He is expected back the second week in October.
The family of Thomas Lock, who has been a resident of our town of six months, arrived here on Wednesday. Therefore, Mr. Lock is the happy man. Michigan’s loss is our eternal gain.
We had extensive ‘cyclone’ one day this week. It carried Foster’s mustache away, as though it were a feather. No other lives lost.
B. G. Miltimore and his sister, Miss. Eliza, left town yesterday for a short trip down the line. This is the first vacation "Brad" ever took.
Mr. D. O. Miltimore visited in town the first of the week. He has just returned from a trip to California.
