Frank DeWillet Short, third child of Washington and Lydia Green Short (later married Haner), was born on 18 Feb 1859 in Pine Valley Township, Clark Co., WI. Margarett Lynch was the mid-wife.
Frank DeWillet Short died on 26 Feb 1940 at St. Mary's Hospital and was buried on 2 Mar 1940 at Graceland Cemetery in Quincy, Adams Co., Ill. Frank died of broncho pneumonia due to malnutrition. According to his death certificate Frank was the widower of Anna Jump Short. No info has been found on this marriage or her death.
Frank D. Short and Elnora Wilhelmina Salisbury were married by John Gill (JP?) on 22 March 1891 at Levis, Clark Co., WI Witnesses were L. J. and Betsey R. Winters. Elnora, born in Waushara Co., WI, was the daughter of William W. and Lucretia Salisbury.
According to family stories, Frank DeWillit Short was living on the John O'Brien farm in sec 5, Levis Township about 1915 with "Nancy" and her children by a former husband. It was thought that she was his "common-law" wife.
According to the 9 Oct 1919 obit of Frank's mother Lydia Green Short Haner, Frank DeWillit Short was then living in Illinois.
