Schmidt, George J. (6 FEB 1881 - APR 1934)

George J. Schmidt, 53, died at his home in Grand Rapids, Mich., of tuberculosis and bronchial asthma from which he has been a patient sufferer for several years past. Deceased was a former resident of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), engaged in carpentry here in early days., having left Thorp in 1917. He was born in Stevens Point, Wis., on Feb. 6, 1881.

Deceased leaves to mourn, his wife, Mrs. Emma Schmidt of Grand Rapids, Mich., one son, Chas. W. Schmidt of Thorp, and two half-brothers, Frank Sauers of Eau Claire, Wis., and John Sauers of Seattle, Wash. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge of Thorp.

Funeral services and burial took place on Monday last at Grand Rapids, Mich.
