Voightlander, Louise E. (13 DEC 1923)
Not on a dark and stormy night, but during the sunny breezy late autumn afternoon of Dec. 13th, 1923, occurred the marriage of Louise E. Voightlander, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Voightlander, of the town of Hoard (Clark Co., Wis.), to G. Wm. Awe of Green Grove (Clark Co.).
Due to the illness of the bride’s mother the wedding was a very quiet affair and took place in the home of the Rev. John Bauer of Curtiss (Clark Co.), who performed the ceremony.
The bride was attended by her sisters Alma and Lydia Awe. She wore tan silk Carmeuse, and carried a shower bouquet of white carnations and myrtle. The groom was attended by the bride’s brother Elmer, and Arthur Awe, brother of the groom. After the ceremony the bridal party motored to Medford, thence to the home of the bride’s parents in the town of Hoard.
For some time the rhythmic tattoo of the hammer, the buzz of the saw and the purr of the plane have foretold of the above event, and have taken form in a comfortable home on the groom’s farm, where the newlyweds will soon begin housekeeping.
