Volk, Dorothy (11 OCT 1924)
Another marriage of interest to all in this vicinity occurred early Saturday morning, Oct. 11, 1924, when Miss Dorothy Volk became the bride of Dr. R.L. Barnes. The wedding was performed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Rev. Frye officiating.
Both young people are too well known to our many readers to need an introduction. The bride has been a life long resident of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) and is the daughter of Mrs. Jacob Volk. The groom, since coming to Greenwood several years ago has been a prominent doctor of Chiropractic and has gained a splendid reputation as one of our most prominent citizens.
After the marriage ceremony they returned to the home of the bride’s mother where a bountiful wedding breakfast awaited them. A number of relatives helped them celebrate the happy occasion.
After the wedding breakfast the couple departed for Cresco, Iowa, where they spent until Tuesday with relatives and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Barnes are at home to their many friends in the Ed Fahey building.
The whole community joins in extending best wishes for a prosperous and happy married life.
