A man by the name of Gilbert Oleson, living in the town of Mayville, committed suicide last week by blowing the top of his head off with a rifle. He place the butt of the rifle on the floor and the muzzle against his forehead, then reaching down he pulled the trigger, the discharge entirely blowing away the upper part of the cranium. The man was in good circumstances, and no reason can be assigned for the act except despondency caused by a temporary illness.
