Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday for Herman F. Manthe, 58, Marshfield, who passed away Saturday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he had been a patient the past nine days. Death was attributed to thrombosis.

Funeral services were held at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Marshfield, Wis., with burial in the North Spencer cemetery.

Mr. Manthe was born June 21, 1891 in the Town of Unity, Wis. where he received his education. He was married to Hattie Schwantes on April 18, 1917 at Spencer. After their marriage they moved to a farm northwest of here and in 1922 they moved to Marshfield.

Surviving are two children, Valerius and LeRoy, Spencer; two grandchildren, Ronald and Cecelia; two brothers, Otto, Unity; and Olaf, Spencer and a sister, Mrs. Ed. (Leona) Klein, Spencer.

One sister and two brothers preceded him in death.
