Donald J. Fischer (Dec 1, 1918 - May 16, 2007)
Donald J. Fischer, 88, of Marshfield, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, Wis.
Graveside services with interment of ashes will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at Hillside Cemetery.
Hansen Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Donald was born Dec. 1, 1918, in Cuba City, to George and Catherine (Zintel) Fischer. He attended Cuba City Schools. He enlisted into the Army and served during World War II as a staff sergeant. Upon his return, on April 2
5, 1946, he was united in marriage to the former Edna Mae Leonard. They later divorced.
Donald and Edna Mae owned and operated Fischer's Grill in Stratford from 1959 to 1969. Donald was employed with Wisconsin Homes from 1970 until his retirement.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Sue Roehrborn of Marshfield; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one sister, Arlene Pfahing, Stratford; and one brother, Duane Fischer, Clark County.
