Kesler, Vernon (1928 - 26 Jan. 1951)
Cpl. Vernon Kesler, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Kesler of Marshfield and a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jordan of Unity was killed in action in Korea, on January 26th.
Cpl. Kesler, a reservist, served previously in occupied Japan, was a Junior at St. Norbert’s College in DePere and was recalled to service September 22nd.
He was born in Colby but moved to Marshfield a year later.
A Memorial Mass was read on Monday, February 12 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield with the Rev. Edmund Cramer officiating. Rosary services were held on Sunday.
Besides his parents he leaves eight brothers and sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.
