Meacham, Fred Earl (2 Jul. 1888 - 8 Feb. 1951)
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Loyal Methodist Church for Fred Earl Meacham, 62, route 1, Loyal, who died at his home Thursday at 8:30 P.M.
The Rev. Lee Holmes officiated at the services which were held at 2 P.M. Burial was in the Spencer cemetery.
Mr. Meacham was born July 2, 1888, at Conde, S.D., and came to Wisconsin with his parents at the age of 8. He was educated in rural schools in South Dakota and Wisconsin and also attended Loyal High School.
As a young man he returned to S. Dakota to work. When he was 21 he came back to Wisconsin with his brother Frank with a team of horses and a covered wagon. He has lived in the Town of Unity since that time.
For 16 years he has been the clerk of Unity Township and is well known here. He also was a member of the Loyal Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife and four children, Vernon, Spencer; Mrs. Chris (Norma) Oestreich, Loyal; Mrs. Glenn (Virginia) Oestreich, Loyal; and Pvt. Jesse Meacham, Fort Campbell, Ky.
Ten grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Maggie Seefeld, Spencer, and two brothers, Frank and Al, Portland, Oregon, also survive.
Two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
