Milewski, Norbert (July 1, 1934 - March 4, 2007)

Norbert Milewski, age 73, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away on March 4, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, AZ.

He was born on July 1, 1934, in Thorp, Wisconsin to Mike and Jeanette Milewski. After attending Pineland Grade School and Thorp High School, he joined the army and fought in the Korean War. He was one of the few survivors of the Chosin Reservoir Battle.

Upon returning home, he worked in the welding and construction trades. On January 10, 1959, he married Alice Hans and they resided in Des Plaines, Illinois until her death in 1990. He worked as a carpenter and then self-employed as a general contractor and also residential property management in the Chicago area.

In October 1994, he married Rita Polk. They moved to Scottsdale, AZ, where he managed his apartment complex in Phoenix.

Norbert is survived by his wife, Rita Milewski; four step-children; sister, Joanne (Al) Gluck of Menomonie, WI; nieces: Rita (Kevin) Lenfant and family of Bloomer, WI, Judy Milewski of Cary, IL and Vicki Milewski of Chicago, IL; nephew, Michael Milewski of Chicago, IL; brother-in-law, Edward Strzok of Cameron, WI, and many cousins in the Thorp area.

He was predeceased in death by his first wife, Alice Milewski; parents, Mike and Jeanette Milewski; sister, Dorothy Strzok; and brother and sister-in-law, Lenard and Elizabeth Milewski.

Funeral services were held March 10, 2007 at the Hansen Mortuary in Arlington Heights, IL.
