Balcer, Edna (9 NOV 1935)

A very pretty wedding took place at St. Hedwig’s Church, Detroit, Mich. At 9 o’clock mass Saturday morning, Nov. 16, 1935, when Miss Edna Balcer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Balcer of Thorp, Clark Co., Wis., and Mr. John Paczkowski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Paczkowski were united in holy bonds of matrimony by Rev. A.S. Wilcewski.

The bride wore a beautiful white satin gown with train and a long silk tulle veil and carried a large bouquet of lilies.

Miss Estelle Jacobs, maid of honor, was dressed in pink crepe with silver headband and slippers to match and carried an arm bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums. Other bridesmaids were: Miss Mildred Mikolainis, who wore an orchid gown of crepe and velvet with silver accessories, Miss Sophie Paczkowski, who wore a blue gown of crepe and velvet, with gold accessories. Both carried arm bouquets of yellow chrysanthemums.

The groom and ushers, Leon Paczkowski and Frank Jacobs, both wore tuxedos.

Reception of about 50 guests was held at the Abington home which was beautifully decorated for the occasion, in white and light blue.

The guests departed happily in the morning, wishing luck and a long and happy married life to the newlyweds.

The following out of town guests attended the wedding: Mr. and Mrs. John Balcer, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gurbocki and Miss Mildred Mikolainis, all of Chicago.

The young couple will reside in Detroit, Michigan, where the groom is employed.
