Brooks - Hewett - In this city December 23, at 7 a.m., at the residence of James Hewett, Mr. Herbert J. Brooks to Miss Mary Hewett, by Rev. W. T. Hendren.
The bridegroom is well known in this vicinity, having been in Clark County most of the time for the last five years. He has at various times been clerk at the Reddan and O’Neill houses in this city, and was at one time clerk in one of the La Crosse hotels. The last summer he was clerk on one of McDonald Bros.’ steamers engaged in running lumber on the Mississippi, and last driving season was time keeper for the East Fork Improvement Co.
