Zukowski, Emilia (29 JUN 1899 - 2 JUN 1936)
Miss Emilia Zukowski, daughter of Martin Zukowski of the town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), died suddenly of a heart attack at her home on Tuesday evening of last week. She had apparently been in good health until the time she was stricken.
Emilia Zukowski was born in Poland on June 19th, 1899, having reached the age of 36 years, 11 months and 4 days. She came to Thorp with her parents on June 4, 1901 and this has since been her home. The care of an aged mother until her death and an aged father, who survives her, has been a duty which she fulfilled during the latter years. She was a true friend, and her devotion to those she loved would make a bright chapter in any life. Nothing but the thought of the loving hand that has removed her can reconcile her family and friends. while she has gone from the scenes the conflicts, the sorrows and pleasures of life, she will still live in the hearts of those who new her best.
Besides her father, she leaves to mourn, three sisters, Mrs. Joe Jarocki of Thorp, Mrs. Malon Nicman of Aberdeen, Wash., and Miss Tillie Zukowski at home, five brothers, George, John, Louis and Peter of Thorp and Frank of Chicago.
Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church at ten o’clock Saturday morning, Rev. F.A. Kulig officiating and burial taking place in the family lot at the Posen Cemetery (St. Hedwig’s).
Pallbearers were: Felix Zukowski, Jacob Zukowski, Julius Zukowski, Louis Jarocki, Stanley Szczygiel. Honorary pallbearers were: Emil Jarocki and Wm. Zukowski. Honorary pallbearers from the St. Hedwig’s Girls’ Club, of which deceased was an active member, carried flowers.
