Brown, Carl (7 DEC 1858 - 15 JUL 1936)

Carl Brown was born in Germany, Dec. 7, 1858, and died at the home of Mike Kronberg, Thorp, Clark Co., Wis., at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 1936. He had attained the age of 77 years, 7 months and 8 days.

On Oct. 20, 1880 he was united in marriage to Amelia Zachow. The following year they came to this country and settled in Calumet County, Wis. Some years later they moved to the town of Worden, Clark Co., Wis., where they resided until 1916, when they moved into the village of Thorp. On Nov. 30, 1917 sorrow came to the home with the death of Mrs. Brown. Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Brown. Three of whom survive their father.

Those left to mourn the death of Mr. Brown are: three children: Mrs. Oscar Ramberg, Mrs. Charles Ramberg of Thorp, Emil Brown of Stanley; one brother, Otto Brown of Thorp; and one sister, Mrs. Augusta Kuehl of Stanley, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the Bogumill Funeral Home, at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 17, 1936, and burial was made in the Worden Cemetery. The Rev. George E. Kelsey, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church, officiated. Pallbearers: Geo. Hansen, Henry Kolpein, Ephraim Heidemann, Ross Lawrence, Mike Kronberg, Mike Larsen.
