Schwantes, Eldore John (20 Jan. 1915 - 31 Aug. 1971)
Eldore John Schwantes, 56, of Milwaukee, a former Marshfield resident, died at 3:15 a.m. today (Tuesday) at Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Wood, Wis. Death was due to complications.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hansen Chapel with the Rev. Eldore Messerschmidt, associate pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church here, officiating. Burial will be made in Hillside Cemetery.
Visitations may be made at the Hansen Chapel from 2 p.m. Wednesday until time of services Thursday.
Mr. Schwantes, a single man, was born Jan. 20, 1915, in Clark County and was a 1935 graduate of the Marshfield Senior High School.
He had been employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory here prior to entering the service in October, 1940. After his discharge in 1946, he had been employed at a Milwaukee foundry.
Survivors include two brothers, Lothar Schwantes. Edgar, and Dr, Frederick Schwantes, Chicago, Ill.; and four sisters, Mrs. Ervin (Frances) Trierweiler, Marshfield; Mrs. Walter (Edna) Seehafer, and Mrs. Leroy (Marion) Seidl, both of route 1, Marshfield, and Mrs. Harold (Elnora) Hanson, Brillion.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion Post of Marshfield.
