Raatz, William (28 Jan. 1870 - 15 Feb. 1930)
Wm. Raatz passed away at his home in the town of Green Grove last Saturday, February 15th, after an illness of several years caused from a paralytic stroke. Funeral services were held at the house Tuesday afternoon, February 18th, at two o’clock, Rev. F. A. Fahlgren officiating and internment was made in the Green Grove cemetery.
The deceased was born in Germany January 28th, 1870 and reached the age of sixty years and eighteen days. He came to Lowell, Dodge county, Wisconsin, when eighteen years old, with his parents and sisters and brothers. He was married to Martha Backer of Oconomowoc on Nov. 1, 1895, at Lowell. He purchased a farm in Green Grove in 1901 where he has resided until his death. During the past two years, he lingered with illness until last Saturday when he died.
He leaves to mourn his departure to the distant shore his wife and seven children - Anna, Robert, Frank, Otto, Ernest, Edward, Bernice. Also three sisters and two brothers - Mrs. Schenwetter of Lowell; Mrs. Stafford and Mrs. Schmoltz of Beaver Dam; Robert Raatz of Beaver Dam; Albert Raatz of Green Grove.
