Ascher, Helen (8 Oct. 1916 - 19 Sept. 1931)
Helen Ascher, fifteen year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ascher of Curtiss, died at the Memorial Hospital at Wausau Saturday morning at 5:00 A. M., myocarditis being the cause of her departure. The body was brought by F. W. Lulloff, funeral director, to his undertaking parlors in Colby where it remained in state until Monday noon when the funeral services were held there and at the Curtiss Lutheran cemetery and burial took place in the Curtiss cemetery.
Six members of her confirmation class - Edward Tesmer, Graydon Beismer, Raymond Paul, LeRoy Lund, Leland Fredrickson, and Merlin Weigman - were selected as pall bearers, and six girls from the same class were named as flower girls.
The Clover Nook School, which she attended, was closed for the afternoon to permit the pupils to attend the funeral.
Helen Ascher was born Oct. 8, 1916, at Albia, Iowa, and came to Wisconsin with her parents about six years ago, and to the town of Mayville a little over a year ago. Besides her parents she is survived by five sisters: Mrs. Ed. Roewe, Betty, Gladys, Jane and Hannah Ascher, and two brothers, Thomas and Preston.
