Pawlicki, Mary Ann (July 27, 1915 - May 27, 2007)

Mary A. Pawlicki, age 91, of the Town of Roosevelt, rural Lublin, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin with Rev. John Long officiating. Burial followed in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were: Larry Leopold, Angela Leopold, John Leopold, Ray Lewan, Leonard Nichols, and Joseph Bielecki.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thorp Funeral Home with a 7:30 p.m. Rosary service. Visitation was also held on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 one hour prior to services at the church.

Mary Ann Slomka was born on July 27, 1915 in Chicago, IL to Albert and Angeline (Gawel) Slomka. At the age of four, Mary’s family moved to Lublin where she received her education at area schools. After completing her education, Mary moved back to Chicago, where she worked at various jobs, including Donnelly’s Printing Company for the next 23 years. She moved back to the Lublin area in 1952 to take care of her elderly parents. Mary was united in marriage to Adam John Pawlicki on November 15, 1958 at St. Stanislaus Catholic church in Lublin. They farmed in the Town of Roosevelt until retiring in 1980. Mary continued to reside on the farm until her death. In her spare time, Mary loved gardening, creating arts & crafts, and loved cooking cheese surprises and other goodies for her family and friends. Mary will be sadly missed by her family and the many friends that she made throughout the years.

She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic church and its Parish Council of catholic Women.

She is survived by her husband Adam of Lublin; one daughter, Sally (Larry) Leopold of Park Falls, WI; two grandchildren: Angela Leopold and John Leopold, both of Park Falls; one nephew, Milton (Leona) Kornet of Lexington, KY; and one niece, Genevieve "Genie" (Charles) Putchaven of LaPorte, IN; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: John Slomka in December of 1993; and one sister: Helen Kornet in October of 2006.

Thorp Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
