Knowlton, Oscar (Oct. 1879 - 8 Nov. 1931)
Oscar Knowlton, age fifty-one, a farmer of the town of Hull near Riverside, dropped dead while eating dinner Sunday afternoon at about 1:00 o’clock. Funeral services will be held at the F. W. Lulloff funeral parlor Friday afternoon at 1:00 P. M. and internment will be made in the town of Holton cemetery.
Dr. Jandrain, at Abbotsford, who was called, was somewhat perplexed over the sudden death and notified G. W. Krueger, Marathon county coroner, and he and W. A. Graunke, Marathon county district attorney, investigated the death. It was found that Knowlton left home at about eight o’clock but it is not known where he had been in the meantime. An autopsy was performed on the body at Colby later in the day. Contents of his vital organs were sent to Madison for analysis.
Besides the widow, the deceased is survived by four children, Lester, Lawrence, Franklin and Mabel, all at home. The Knowlton family moved to the town of Hull about a year ago from Curtiss, Wis.
