Nickel, Bernice (Marriage - 25 Nov. 1931)
A ceremony uniting in marriage Miss Bernice Nickel of Unity and Herman Reckner of Stratford was solemnized at 2:30 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, at the Lutheran Trinity church of Unity, the Rev. J. A. Olson officiating.
Miss Vera Nickel, sister of the bride, attended as maid of honor and Gus Schraeder was best man. The bridesmaid was Miss Ellen Ewert and Ferdinand Habeck attended as groomsman.
The bride was attired in a brown flat crepe frock and wore brown slippers and carried an arm bouquet of roses and bronze chrysanthemums. Her attendants wore frocks of brown crepe and wore corsage bouquets of mixed flowers.
Dinner at 4 o’clock was served at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Nickel. Cut flowers and yellow and white streamers decorated the home. There were forty guests. In the evening a wedding dance was held at March Rapids and was attended by a large crowd.
Mr. and Mrs. Reckner will reside on the bridegroom’s farm near Stratford and will be at home to friends after December 1st.
