Savage, Nathaniel #2 (1885? - 25 MAR 1897)
Nathaniel Savage, aged 11 years, was killed by a falling tree Thursday last on the farm of his father. Esel Savage, in Washburn Township (Clark Co., Wis.). He had helped a brother saw through a maple tree, and, as it started to fall, stepped back. The falling tree struck another tree and bounded throwing the butt off the sump, striking and instantly killing the boy. The funeral was held Saturday, the 27th, Rev. Foster conducting. The Savage place is southeast of Shortville Post Office. Deceased was a bright young lad, full of promise, helpful and ambitious, and his death falls as a great calamity upon the family
