Wiersig, Emma Augusta (30 Jan. 1890 - 17 Aug. 1932)
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Augusta Wiersig, whose death was reported last week, were held at the Zion Ev. Lutheran church Saturday afternoon, Aug. 20, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. The pall bearers were Chas. Weller, Carl Meinke, Julius Kraemer, Frank Ladwig, Wm. Werth, and Eugene Thiel. The flower girls were Selma Wiersig, Olga Runzheimer, Evelyn Wiersig, Erma Wiersig, Anita Runzheimer, Renata Wiersig, Lita Runzheimer and Lucinda Wiersig.
The deceased, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Hass, was born in the town of McMillan, Wood county, Wisconsin, January 30, 1890, thus reaching the age of forty-two years, six months and seventeen days. She was married to E. R. Wiersig on April 20th, 1912, when they came to this locality. She passed away on Wednesday, August 17th, after an illness of four days following a gallstone operation. She is survived by her husband, E. R. Wiersig, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Hass, of Marshfield; six children, Harold, Reinhold, Ella, Frieda, Hilda and Olga, all at home; two brothers and two sisters, Herman Hass, Arthur Hass, Ottilia Hass and Ida Hass, all of Marshfield, Wis.
The out of town people here for the funeral were Ed. F. Wiersig, of Random Lake, Wisconsin; O. A. Wiersig, Watertown, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Julius Hass, Arthur Hass, Herman Hass, Ottilia Hass, Ida Hass, of Marshfield; Mrs. Emma Evert, Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Kloehn and Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Kloehn, Marshfield; Mrs. Augusta Weber and Mr. and Mrs. Gust Frank, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Weber, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Weber and children and Mr. and Mrs. Weber and children, of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wepner, Marion, Wisconsin; Mr. E. P. Karau, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kolell and son, Arnold, Marshfield; Mrs. Fred Kloehn, Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Luchterhand, Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Draham, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Luchterhand, Mr. and Mrs. Gust Tewes, Marshfield; Miss Adele Frank, Spencer, Wisconsin; Mrs. Louis Zimmerling and daughter, Miss Martha, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kloehn, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Kobl and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Evert and son, Wm., Stratford, Wis.
The deceased was a faithful member of the Lutheran church and was of an affectionate disposition, bright and winning in her ways, so that friendship’s circle was to her a large one. Her sickness was of but brief duration - seemingly with us today, active in life’s round of duty, but gone tomorrow.
