Huckstead, Thomas #2 (8 OCT 1822 - 20 DEC 1898)
Thomas Huckstead of Pleasant Ridge (Clark Co., Wis.) was taken suddenly sick with uremic convulsions Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 20, 1898, at 3 o’clock, and died at 7:30 that evening.
He had been in poor health for a long time. His age was 76 years, 2 months and 12 days.
Deceased was born at Staplehurst, England, and came to this country in 1849, when 27 years old, staying in York State until 1860, when he moved to Virginia, coming here in 1862.
He was a highly respected citizen, of many sterling qualities. The wife had died some years ago. He is survived by three sons, Edward, Alonzo and Arlo, and a brother, Henry, whose home is in Iowa. His sudden death is a great shock to the community, of which he has been, for 36 years, an honored member.
The funeral will be held at the house Friday at 1 p.m.
