Balch, Sadie (28 DEC 1898)
A wedding in which all this big town is interested took place yesterday at 2 p.m. at the home of the bride on the north side (Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis.). Julius Sontag and Miss Sadie Balch were united in wedlock by Rev. T. Grafton Owen, who journeyed hither from Arcadia for the purpose. The bride is daughter of F.A. Balch, and sister of R.W. and F.O. Balch, and has grown from infancy to maturity here, graduating from out schools, then teaching here, and since her mother’s death, keeping house for the father. The groom is a railroad man, and has been in the service of the Omaha company for many years, with whom he stands high. Both are universally popular, and have the unbounded goodwill and good wishes of everybody. Only relatives and intimates witnessed the ceremony. An elaborate banquet was served after the knot was tied and the young husband and wife took the 4:25 train for St. Paul, where they will visit for a few days and then return to Altoona, where they will reside, keeping house.
