Philpott, Elizabeth (1812 - 19 Jan. 1885)

Loyal –

Died, here in the village of Loyal. Mrs. Elizabeth Philpott, wife of Wm. Philpot, Sr., aged 72 years, Jan. 19, 1885. Grandma Philpott, as she was familiarly called by all, out of the high esteem in which she was held by neighbors as well as relatives, was born in the county of Hampshire, England, buried three children in England, when with her companion and four children, Harry, William, Tom B., and Mary, came to this country in 1856, and settled at Iron Ridge, Dodge County, Wis., moved to Clark County about ten years ago, where they have lived ever since, except Wm. Jr., who still lives at Iron Ridge. The deceased had been married forty night years. Her companion who now mourns the loss of the departed is 76 years of age. The funeral services were held in the M. E. Church, Rev. G. N. Foster preaching to an overcrowded house of sympathizing friends.

Philpott - At the residence of Harry Philpott, at Loyal, Monday, January 19, 1885, Elizabeth Philpott, aged seventy-two years.

Mrs. Philpott was the mother of Harry and Tom B. Philpott, of Loyal. She had been an invalid for some 20 years, but always bearing her misfortune with Christian fortitude. Some two years ago she met with a painful accident, the result f which was a broken hip, since which time she was almost helpless. The funeral services were held at the M. E. Church, Loyal, on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 21, Rev. G. N. Foster officiating.
