Sturner, Otto A. (13 NOV 1882 - 24 DEC 1933)

Otto A. Sturner, 51, prominent Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) merchant, dropped dead Christmas Eve as he returned with his wife from a visit at the home of her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Fred Ostenson, residing east of that village.

Funeral services were conducted today at the Norwegian Lutheran Church at Curtiss, Rev. W.L. Anderson officiating.

Mr. and Mrs. Sturner had driven home and he had placed his car in the garage at the rear of the store building in which they made their home. As he crossed the threshold he fell dead. Heart disease was blamed for his death.

Born at Lowell, Wis., on Nov. 13, 1882, Otto Sturner was married to Carla Ostenson 11 years ago. He was president of the Curtiss State Bank at the time of his death and had served as president and as treasurer of the village.

He is survived by his wife and the following brothers and sister: Oscar, Colby; Hugo, St. Paul; John and Hobart, Holcombe; Fred, Ferndale, Mich.; Emil, Lowell; Edward, Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs. Ben Riplinger, Colby; Miss Arva Sturner, Milwaukee; and Mrs. Benjamin Nelander, Curtiss, Wis.

For several years Mr. Sturner has conducted a general merchandise store in Curtiss and was one of the most influential citizens of that community. His wide circle of friends were shocked to hear of his sudden death and the surviving relatives have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
