Smith, William (11 APR 1856 - 2 MAR 1934)
William Smith, 77, died at his home near Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) last Friday morning as a result of arterio-sclerosis. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Vochtlander (Voightlander?) Church, northwest of Dorchester, Wis.
Born in Germany on April 11, 1856, Mr. Smith came to this country many years ago and settled on a farm northwest of Dorchester, where he lived for several years, later moving into the village, and then moving to Curtiss, Wis. He had been in his last place of residence about a year when he died.
Surviving relatives include his wife and the following children: Edward and Rollie, Eldorado; Frank and Raymond, Owen; William H., Albert and Elden, Curtiss; Mrs. Fred Hamm, Owen; Mrs. A.F. Balthazar, Fond du Lac; Mrs. Victor Beebee, Loveland, Colo.; Mrs. Engman Gilbertson, Withee; Della and Evelyn, Curtiss, Wis. Four children preceded him in death.
He is also survived by three brothers, Charles, Curtiss; August, Rosendale; and Julius, North Fond du Lac; and Augusta Stollfus, Eldorado; and 26 grandchildren.
