VanderWegen, Duane K. (29 JUL 1933 - 9 SEP 1934)
Duane Karl VanderWegen, 13 months old son of Mr. and Mrs. William VanderWegen of Withee was found dead in a water tank on the farm Sunday afternoon. The little boy had climbed to the top of the tank and fell in, drowning without anyone being near enough to aid.
He had been in the tank only a short time when his body was discovered. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the Catholic Church at Withee, Father Novak of Abbotsford officiating, and interment was made at Riverside Cemetery.
Besides his parents, one sister, Bonnie May, survive him. The sympathy of all goes to the family in their deep sorrow over his death.
