Sophie Theresa Mivshek, 95, of Waukegan passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 in Waukegan. Sophie was born on May 5, 1912 in Owen, WI and married John Mivshek in 1937. She was a member of Queen of Peach Church in North Chicago and lived to knit, sew and crochet.
She is survived by two sons, John (Carol) of Waukegan and Richard (Sheron) Mivshek of Gurnee; seven grandchildren, Thomas, James, Craig and David Mivsehk, Dawn Lange, Karen Dietrich and Tamara Ruppenthal; six great grandchildren; a brother, Frank (Fran) Jerina of Waukegan; two sisters Frances (Bill) Hammersbach of Waukegan and Ann (Tony) Lesnak of Waukegan.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Star Hospice (Kathy, Anna, Sam as well as Mike; Carol and Dean) for their loving care and support.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1995; a son, Bob in 1994; a brother, Fred Jerina; and three sisters, Emma Merlock, Mary Kinsey and Jean Mulligan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at Queen of Peace Church, 910 14th St., North Chicago. Friends may gather at the church from 9 AM Tuesday until time of Mass. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville.
Donations may be made in her memory to Star Hospice.
