Taylor, Catherine #2 (21 AUG 1859 - 8 JAN 1899)

Mrs. Jas. G. Taylor died Sunday evening at 8:45 at her home in this city (Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis.). She had been sickly for five years and two weeks ago she became worse and never rallied. Catherine Billings was born in Pewaukee, Wis., Aug. 21, 1859. Here she resided until about 1866, when her parents moved to this county and settled on the farm at Pleasant Ridge. She was united in marriage to Jas. G. Taylor in 1878 and the first two years of their married life was spent at Medford, a short time at Pleasant Ridge and the last sixteen years was spent in Neillsville, Wis. She was one of a family of five children, two of whom, Henry and Edwin, with her husband and an aged father and mother, are left to mourn the loss of one who was very near and dear to them. During her lingering illness she was a patient sufferer and bore it all with great fortitude until death came. Respected and loved by all, her life and example were pure and elevating, and those with whom she came in contact have felt her influence for good infused into their lives and the world is made better by the good deeds of such a she, whose eyes are closed in that last, long sleep.

The funeral occurred Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock from the M.E. Church, under the auspices of the order of the Eastern Star, of which she was an honored member. Rev. G. N. Foster of Reesburg preached the sermon. Her remains were interred in the Neillsville Cemetery.
