Noyes, Ellis (4 JUL 1873 - 23 AUG 1898)

The bodies of Frank Stanley and Ellis Noyes arrived here (Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis.) Tuesday from Puerto Rico. They were sent by the way of New York.

The funeral occurred Wednesday from the Armory under the auspices of the A.O.U.W. and Co. A. 3rd Inf., Rev. Longenecker preaching the sermon. The procession, headed by the Neillsville Brass Band was one of the largest ever seen in the city, a fitting tribute of our people’s respect for the dead heroes. All the flags in the city were hung at half mast.

The Stanley and Noyes families have been deeply affected by the interest shown by all in their brave boys, and wish us to express their lasting gratitude for the same.
