Warren Block, 59, Stetsonville, died Saturday, June 23rd, 2007.
Memorial services were held Wednesday, June 27th at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic, Church, Stetsonville.
Father Frederick Brost and Co-Celebrant Father Dennis Meulemans presided. Interment was at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery, Dorchester, Wis.
Pallbearers were Boone Metz, Randy Noland, Ed and Gerald Brecke, Don Zueleger, Frank Bednarch, Dennis Blasel and Wally McKee.
Warren was born December 6th, 1947, in the Town of Dorchester, Wis. He and Vera Ann Riehle were married November 13th, 1971, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He worked for Gabe’s Construction as a backhoe operator for about nine years, Armin Buehler Construction for 23 years as a backhoe operator and Melvin Companies in Medford for 10 ½ years.
Warren enjoyed snowmobiling, truck pulls, camping, drag racing, fishing and hunting.
He and his wife Vera founded the two-wheel drive truck pulling event in 1985 with the junkyard special and in 1987, it became the Blue Persuasion.
Warren was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic, Church, Stetsonville, past member of the Stetsonville Pine Creek Rider’s Snowmobile Club, the Dorchester Midnight Rider’s Club, Grooming Association of Snowmobile Trails and the North Central Classic Car Club Association.
He is survived by his wife Vera, Stetsonville, two daughters, Kristine Woebbeking, Rib Lake, and Missy (Roger) Petrick, Medford; eight brothers, Leonard (Carol) Block, Abbotsford, Russel (Barb) Block, Mosinee, Neal (Pat) Block, Dorchester, Larry (Arlene) block, Edgar, Dale (Jan) Block, Unity, David (Ellie) Block, Dorchester, Ricky (Karen) Block, Stetsonville and Jerry (Debbie) Block, Stetsonville; six sisters, Nancy (Lee) Noland, Medford, Cathy (Jerry) Tischendorf, Dorchester, Darlene Barton, Colby, Sandra Drager, Stetsonville, Terri (Mark) Barnett, Eagle River and Judy (Jeff) Woller, Marathon; and four grandchildren.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ione (Paff) Block.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials that will be designated at a later date in Warren’s name.
