Jantsch, Elvera M. (Krueger) (13 Feb 1922 - 01 Jul 2007)

Elvera M. Jantsch, 85, Abbotsford, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, July 1st, 2007, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 4th, at Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford and Thursday, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5th, at Christ United Church in Athens. Burial will be in the Athens Public Cemetery; Reverend Kenneth A. Dix will preside.

Elvera was born February 13th, 1922 in Athens to Otto and Josephine (Dettinger) Krueger.

She and Leonard Jantsch were married May 15th, 1948 and they farmed in the town of Frankfort for 47 years.

Elvera taught in various country schools form 1940-1963 when she became an elementary and remedial school teacher at Athens Elementary School until retiring in 1979.

She enjoyed mowing lawn, reading, polka dancing, her grandchildren and had a great love for her family. Elvera was a member of Christ United Church in Athens.

Elvera is survived by her husband, Leonard of Abbotsford; her children, Charles (Cindy) Jantsch of Athens and John (Karen) Jantsch of Wausau; two grandchildren, Hilary and Garrett; three brothers, Donald (Carolyn) Krueger of Milwaukie, OR, Erlyn (Leslie) Krueger of Oregon City, OR, and Orville (Margaret) Krueger of Wausau, three sisters, Esther Nehrbass of Athens, Geraldine Andersen of Fredonia and Doris Habeck of Athens.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille and Irene.

The family wishes to thank Aspirus Wausau Hospital Hospice for their care and support along with a special thanks to Dr. Pablo Abrego and the nurses and staff at the Wausau Kidney Center.
