Nason, Sol (16 Dec. 1825 - 1 Apr. 1899)

Sol Nason of Nasonville (Wood Co., Wis.) is dead. He lived to be 74 years old. The attendance at the ceremonies was far larger than accommodations available, for Mr. Nason was a prince of men in many ways, the pioneer and builder of a little empire at Nasonville, and had seen the dark, vast tracts of giant forest give way to the steady push of the homemakers until his pioneer opening on the trail had become the center of a rich and beautiful farming country. He has performed his office, and his life has been used up wholly in the process of up building an empire. He was a man of affability and good will for those who were honest, and out spoken and direct with those who merited his wrath. In every way he was the picturesque pioneer.
