Huhn, Louisa (17 Jan. 1879 - 14 Sept. 1933)

Mrs. Charley Huhn passed away last Thursday, September 14th, 1933, at the home of her sister at Greenwood, after an illness of a year and a half, cancer being the cause of her departure to the distant shore. Funeral services were held at Zion Ev. Lutheran church in Colby Monday, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Six brothers acted as pall bearers and the flower girls were Lucille Huhn, Corine Huhn, Mrs. Norbert Hopf, Arlene Meinholdt, Doris Marquardt and Bernice Tesmer.

The deceased, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Marquardt, was born in the town of Green Grove January 17th, 1879, thus reaching the age of fifty-four years, eight months and three days. She was married to Charley Huhn June 28th, 1906, and made her home on their farm in the town of Hull ever since. This union was blessed with eight children - Ferdinand of Riplinger, Errol of Riplinger, Mrs. Regina Brotherton of Colby, Neal, Milton, Orrin, Franklin and Lois, at home.

Besides her husband and children, she is survived by four sisters, and six brothers, namely - Mrs. Julius Kobs and Mrs. George Tesmer of Colby, Mrs. Gust Meinholdt of Greenwood, Mrs. J. C. Hill of Chicago, Albert Marquardt of Greenwood, Charley Marquardt of Green Grove, Herman Marquardt of Marathon City, Fred and Frank Marquardt of Milan, Ben Marquardt of Loyal. Also two grand children.

The deceased had been a good Christian, a loving wife and mother and always endeavored to consider the welfare of her family in preference to her own pleasures.

The out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Huhn of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Stolzman, Mrs. Adolph Doersch and son, Melvin, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Huhn and daughters, Lucille and Corine, all of Cleveland, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Roland Roehl, Mrs. George Wilke and Mrs. Norbert Hoff, all of Sheboygan; Miss Anita Krueger of Chicago; Mrs. Gust Meinholdt and daughter, Arlene, Mr. Albert Marquardt and daughter, Doris, of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Charley Marquardt and son. Clarence, of Green Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Marquardt and children, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Marquardt and daughter, Wilma, of Milan; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Marquardt and daughter, Maxine, of Marathon City; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Marquardt of Loyal.
