Billman, Ruth (Marriage - 11 Oct. 1933)

A very pretty fall wedding took place at the Zion Lutheran parsonage Wednesday, October 11th, at 2:30 o’clock in the afternoon, the Rev. O. H. Hoffmann reading the marriage ceremony, when Miss Ruth Billman, daughter of Mr. Walter E. Billman, became the bride of Mr. Arthur Leichtnam, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Leichtnam. Miss Emma Billman acted as bridesmaid and Evelyn Burt was maid of honor. The groom was attended by Elmer Leichtnam and Lloyd Tischendorf.

The bride was attired in a beautiful gray wool crepe fur trimmed suit with blue and gray accessories and her bouquet consisted of roses, carnations and baby breath. The bridesmaid wore a navy blue suit with blue accessories and a corsage bouquet. The maid of honor wore a tan suit with accessories to match and a corsage bouquet.

A wedding reception was held at the home of the bride’s father, the home being nicely decorated with blue, pink and white crepe paper and autumn leaves. Covers were laid for sixty at a five o’clock supper after which a free wedding dance was given at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion.

The newlyweds will make their home on the groom’s farm near Abbotsford and he is employed as a Dixie truck driver.

The out of town people here for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Rob. Tischendorf and family of Minocqua, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Winchell and family of Dorchester, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Winchell of Dorchester, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Pupp of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. George Dahl, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Larson and Mr. and Mrs. Arvin Nelson of Ogema, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Leichtnam and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gorman Leichtnam and family and Miss Joyce Meske of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Billman and son, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Billman and family and Miss Mary Orinda Osgood of Granton, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Humphrey and daughter of Marshfield and Miss Evelyn Burt of Minocqua.
