Panke, Henrietta (1 Jan. 1850 - 20 Nov. 1933)
Mrs. Fred Panke passed away Monday evening at 7:25, a stroke of paralysis sustained four days previously being the cause of her departure to the distant shore. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the St. John’s Ev. church in Colby, Rev. G. F. Hahn officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby cemetery.
The deceased was born in Gross Zarken, East Prussia, Germany, January 1st, 1850, thus reaching the age of eighty-three years, ten months and twenty days. She was married to Fred Panke on Sept. 17, 1882, at Liebenmuehlen, East Prussia, and came to the United States Nov. 11, 188?, thus being numbered among our early settlers.
Besides her husband the deceased is survived by two children - Frank Panke of Park Falls, Wis., and Mrs. Paul Draeger of Colby. Also ten grand children.
The deceased was a good Christian, a charter member of St. John’s Ev. church and always faithfully performed her duties. She was kind and gentle in her ways, easily made friends and never forgot the hospitable ways of the early pioneers.

Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Panke were held at the St. John’s Ev. church last Thursday afternoon, Rev. G. F. Hahn officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were August Schoelzel, John Brill, Fred Baumgart, Fred Lindner, Charles Allmann, John Engeldinger. Those in charge of the flowers were Miss Evelyn Panke, Miss Henrietta Draeger, Miss Hazel Allmann, Miss Lauretta Allmann.
Out of town relatives and friends here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Panke and son, Arnold, and daughter, Evelyn, Park Falls; Mrs. Roman and son William, Park Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Domer, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Baumgart and son, Vernon, and daughter, Myra, Fifield; Mrs. Ed. Minshall and Miss Viola Rusk, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kleinstick, Unity; Mr. Otto Kleinstick, Spencer; Mrs. Wm. Jischkamski, Atwood; Miss Hazel Allmann, Birnamwood; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Jischkamski and family of Green Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pokallus, Stetsonville; Mrs. Rosa Bast, Marshfield.
