Redlich, Herman H. (7 Mar. 1874 - 10 Dec. 1933)
Herman H. Redlich of Colby, who was roadmaster for the Milwaukee road for thirty years, prior to ten years ago, died Sunday afternoon at 1:15 o’clock at the Wisconsin General hospital in Madison after an illness of about a year. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the home of the deceased’s sister in law, Mrs. William Priebe, at Wausau, Rev. O Hoffmann of Colby officiating, and internment was made in the Pine Grove cemetery at Wausau.
The deceased was born March 7th, 1874, at New Lisbon. More than forty years ago he began working for the Milwaukee road and for twenty-five years he was a resident of Wausau. He moved to Colby about two years ago after disposing of a grocery store at Wausau, which he sold to John Bliese, and after residing a year or so in the town of Weston. He retired from railroading ten years ago.
He was married in Wausau to Lydia Riebe, May 24, 1915. Surviving are the widow, six children, Mrs. George Kotis, Mrs. Harry Washow, and Arthur Redlich of Chicago, Geo. and Howard Redlich of Washington, D. C., and Floyd Redlich who lives in Arizona; a brother, Bernhardt Redlich of Alcott, N. Y., five sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Rogers, Mrs. William Broeder, Mrs. Harry Briggs, Mrs. George Johnson and Mrs. Otto Miller, all of Chicago; and eight grandchildren.
