Rosalind L. Chubb, 86, Granton, died on Wednesday, July 18, 2007, in the Palliative Care Unit of Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., on Monday, July 23, 2007, at the Zion American Evangelical Lutheran Church, Granton. The Rev. Keith Lueneburg officiated. Music was provided by Susan Lueneburg. Casket bearers were: Daniel, Eric and Ryan Kumm, Andrew Flor, Ryan Roehl and Ben Reigel.
Rosalind Lucille Chubb was born on July 3, 1921, in Polley, to Jesse and Angus (nee Murray) Brothers. She attended Polley State Graded School and graduated in 1939, third from the top of the class at Gillman High School, Gilman. She married Victor R. Jessen on June 7, 1939, in Withee. They farmed in Withee. He died in 1971. She later married Earl Chubb on Dec. 29, 1975, in Neillsville, Wis. She spent many years as Clark County clerk. She was very politically active. She was a member of the Zion American Lutheran Church, Granton, and was very active in all aspects of her church. Shen was an avid quilter, gardener and bowler. She lived life to the fullest.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Chubb, Granton; children, Patricia Jessen, Milwaukee, Pamela (Kirk) Hookstadt, Marshfield, Carilyn (Arnold "Doc") Wesenberg, Granton, Margie (Dale) Buckner, Pittsville, Nancy (Tom) Dahlen, Granton, Doris (Joe) Fischer, Hampton, Minn., Sally (Terry) Schar, Lakeville, Minn., Jerry (Marti) Chubb, Unity, Debra (James) Rakovec, Marshfield, and Jane (Mike) Reigel, Marshfield; 29 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Larmon, Neillsville, and Carol Lapham-Bartlett, California; and a brother, James D. Brothers, Washington.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her son, Harlon Jessen; two sisters; and five brothers.
The Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
