O’Brien, Bertha (Marriage - 7 Feb. 1934)
A pretty wedding was solemnized at St. Mary’s Catholic church Wednesday, February 7th, Rev. L. Lang reading the marriage ceremony, when Miss Bertha O’Brien, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. D. O’Brien, became the bride of Mr. Arthur Rueden, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Rueden of the town of Colby. Miss Elaine Rueden, the groom’s sister, acted as bridesmaid and the groom was attended by Sylvester O’Brien, the bride’s brother.
The bride was attired in a beautiful dress of Alice blue crepe with turban and pumps to match and her arm bouquet consisted of white and pink carnations and ferns. The bridesmaid wore a dress of cream and brown figured crepe with brown hat and pumps. Her shoulder bouquet consisted of pink and white carnations.
A wedding reception was given at the O’Brien home, covers being laid for fifty at dinner and supper. The home was nicely decorated in pink, green and white streamers for the occasion. In the evening, a wedding dance was given at the Colby town hall. The newlyweds will make their home at the O’Brien farm for the present.
