Buss, Anna Annetta (May 15, 1913 - July 16, 2007)

Anna A. Schneider, age 94, of Greenwood, died on Monday July 16, 2007 at the Memorial Medical Center, in Neillsville, Wis.

Anna Annetta Buss was born on May 15, 1913 in the Town of Green Grove, Clark County, WI to Emil and Elizabeth (Buss) Buss. She was raised on the family farm, near Owen, and received her education at Midway School in the Town of Hoard. Anna was united in marriage on April 10, 1934 to Robert Schneider at the Curtiss Reformed Church with Rev. H. K. Martin officiating. They resided in Greenwood, where she was a homemaker and raised her six sons. Anna worked for the telephone company in Greenwood, as a switchboard operator, was a cook and waitress at the Greenwood Café, and also worked as a cook at the Black River View Apartments in Greenwood. Her husband, Robert, died on June 20, 1982. Anna continued to reside in Greenwood until the time of her death.

She was a member of the former Zion United Church of Christ and a present member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, where she was active in the Ladies Guild and was a Sunday School teacher. Anna also served as a Boy Scout parent/leader in Greenwood.

Anna had many interests, but especially enjoyed going to the cabin in Park Falls, gardening, traveling, quilting, knitting and crocheting hats, mittens and afghans for relatives, nursing homes, youth homes and for anyone who was in need.

She will be sadly missed by her six sons, Allen, of Greenwood; Robert (Elida), of Stoughton; David (Beth), of Wasilla, Alaska; Tom (Sue) of Queensland, Townsville, Australia; Jerry (Jana), of Rice Lake; John (Lori), of Greenwood; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; two sisters, Linda (Rueben) Hill, of Owen; Elda Burtard, of Owen; two sisters-in-law, Gertrude Buss, of Owen; Florence Schneider, of Colby; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; two sisters, Emma Harner and Minnie Schneider; and one brother, Henry Buss.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 20, 2007 at Immanuel United Church of Christ, rural Greenwood. Rev. Mark Schwinn officiated and burial was in the Greenwood City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were her grandsons Paul Schneider, Christopher Schneider, Matthew Schneider, Nathan Schneider, Scott Schneider and Kendrick Schneider.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given in her name to Immanuel United Church of Christ or the American Cancer Society.

Cuddie Funeral Home, of Greenwood assisted the family with arrangements.
