Pudlas, Dorothy (Marriage - 9 June 1934)
Miss Dorothy Pudlas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pudlas of Curtiss, and Mr. Wilfred Marchott of Independence, Iowa, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marchott of Curtiss, were married Saturday, June 9th, at 3:00 o’clock at the home of the bride’s parents, Rev. W. P. Powell of Owen reading the marriage ceremony. Esther Pudlas, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid and the groom was attended by his brother, Lester Marcott. Mrs. Powell sang, "I Love You Truly."
The bride was attired in a beautiful dress of white satin with veil and train and her bouquet consisted of roses and lilies of the valley. The bridesmaid wore a dress of yellow taffeta and her bouquet consisted of roses.
A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, the home being nicely decorated with white, yellow, pink and green streamers and flowers for the occasion. Guests present were Mr. and Mrs. H. Marcott, Mrs. Alice Davis and daughter, Jeanitee, Miss Marion Gwinn, Mrs. Amelia Nietsch, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Haks, Mr. and Mrs. L. Rickman, Miss Mary Smiley, Mrs. V. Teach and the following from out of town: Mrs. Oscar Kolb of Cleveland, Mr. and Mrs. J. Seifert and Mr. and Mrs. H. Culbertson of Appleton, Mr. and Mrs. Art Marcott and Mr. and Mrs. M. Raske of Phillips, Mr. and Mrs. X. Arschambo and family, Mr. and Mrs. George Patitz and family and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Laack and family of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. E. Martens and family of Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Marcott and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Springer and daughter, June, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Jensen and family and Mrs. E. M. Patitz of Dorchester, Rev. and Mrs. W. P. Powell of Owen, Wis.
The newlyweds will be at home after June 15th at Independence, Iowa, where the groom is employed as a cheesemaker.
