Ewert, Fred (18 Dec. 1874 - 9 July 1940)

Decatur - Fred Ewert, 62, died at his home, three miles north of Decatur, at noon Tuesday, following an illness of two years. He came to Unity, Wis., from Berlin, Germany, when four years old with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Ewert. He was married in 1903 to to Miss Anna Liepert, of Colby, Wis. In 1910 they moved to Decatur and settled on the Paige farm. In 1924 they bought the farm where they have since resided. He leaves the widow, Anna; four sons, William, Harold, Leslie of Decatur and Clarence of Fort Valley, Ga., and a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Peterson, Chicago, also seven grandchildren, two brothers, Charles and Herman of Unity, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Schreiber, Dayton, Oh., and Mrs. Hulda Keith of Unity. Services will be held from the Swihart funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Thursday with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
