Plath, William (18 Mar. 1889 - 14 Sept. 1971)
Spencer - William Plath Sr., 82, Spencer, died Tuesday evening at the Marshfield Convalescent Center where he had been a resident for the past year.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church here with the Rev. William Ruhbusch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be made in the West Spencer cemetery.
Visitations may be made at the Jasperson Funeral Home beginning Friday noon.
Mr. Plath was born March 18, 1889, in Spencer, and received his education there. He was married Oct. 13, 1910, in Spencer, to Reneda Hoops, who preceded him in death in August, 1967.
They had resided in Spencer since their marriage and he had been employed for the Soo Line Railroad for 43 years prior to his retirement in 1957. They had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1960.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Helen) Fisher, Fond du Lac; Mrs. Siegert (Eva) Krasselt, Spencer; and Mrs. Merten (Arlene) Youmans, Janesville; two sons, Sherwood Plath, Oshkosh; and William Plath, Jr., Danbury; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Pudrosike, Stevens Point; and a brother, Herman Plath, Marshfield.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother.
